Susan & Son Logo and Brand Identity
Susan & Son Quilt Patterns is a pattern business I started with my mother, Susan. She is the quilter and I draw the designs. The badge tells that story: a mother and son swallow sharing one thread from the same spool, engraved in a single ink.
The badge breaks down into a family of lockups, from a stacked scene and a horizontal spool lockup to a plain wordmark and a tagline line, so there is always a version that fits the space. On the website the logo hangs from the top of the page as a woven label.
Alongside the logo I put together a brand guide covering the lockups, clear space, the Indigo & Cheddar palette taken from 19th-century American quilts, and type, plus a set of engraved illustrations in the same style as the badge: a thimble, a spool, fat quarters, folded quilts, and the swallows that fly through the site.
